I don’t have a racist bone in my body

Starting with President trump’s tweets targeting the Democrat ‘squad’ in the House, he has been under attack as racist.

Yesterday Trump made the following statement: “I don’t have a racist bone in my body”.

Does anyone believe that statement?

Some do. Some don’t.

His supporters do. Democrats & the media don’t. His universe of friends and acquaintances over his career would indicate he does not have a racist bone in his body. Dems & the media say he hates immigrants, yet he married two. They say he hates women, yet he has put then in positions of authority throughout his a career and while President. So facts don’t bear this out. But, 50 years of political spin defining Republicans with the false narrative of racists is well established and overcome factual judgement. Political correctness easily convicts on style vs substance. On spin vs truth.

In our 21st Century political environment, the messaging lines are being drawn around Trump & Republicans as ‘white supremacists’ and ‘nationalists’ vs Democrats as Socialist, Communist and anti-American. The truth is, both of these positions is on the extreme of each side. The other truth is that those in the middle between these two extremes are easily swayed, primarily by the media. Both parties have lost their heads, but radical left-wing policies are worse than intemperate tweets.

For example, if Democrats in Congress (& the media) can say derogatory, vile, vulgar things about America, all Republicans, all white people who are not Democrats (and some Dems-see Biden) and the President, why can’t the President respond by calling out the people making those statements, no matter what race they happen to be? In our politically correct country, you cannot attack someone of a non-white race for anything they do. What? Really? Correct, you cannot!

Non-white people in America have immunity. Media immunity, cultural immunity and built in excuses when immunity doesn’t help. As a result, the President, or anyone else, is supposed to be quiet. He or she is supposed to say nothing or make some calm statement about how he or she understands their concerns.

That has happened for the past 50 years and not fighting back has been a ‘death by a thousand cuts’ for our country. Because it denies us the opportunity to debate any issue with facts and most importantly truth. Thus, issues never get fixed, and just kicked down the road, making situations worse.

Since Trump is an action oriented ‘fixer’, he shakes up that system of political inaction and limited public discourse.

He started that shake up with the theme, ‘Make American Great Again’. Something no one should have a problem with, you would think. But, there is an element out there, on the extreme, making its way to the center of the Democrat party, whose objective is to bring America don to size. We don’t deserve to be great.

Does “MAGA” mean ‘Make America White Again’? No, but that has become the dividing line. Trump says we need to ‘Make America Great Again’. It makes no statement about race. It is an inclusive, not exclusive, statement on the surface. But, the spin in decidedly different. The Democrats cannot have that stand because it is unifying, inviting anyone and everyone to help do that. Instead, they attack it as ‘white nationalism’ and as therefore creating disunity. An argument made up out of thin air. Just the opposite of the intent. The Dems & the media constantly present the “Make America White Again’ messaging, which leads to attacks on people wearing MAGA hats or supporters in restaurants. Which the media presents as positive instead of denouncing the assaults.

Lets look at what started this latest political and media frenzy, Trump’s initial tweet, a little closer, to see how it is being made to nicely fit into the current political messaging. We’ll do that in two parts.

Part 1: “So interesting to see ‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries where governments are in complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world, if they ever have a functioning government at all, now loudly … and viciously telling the people of the United States the greatest and most powerful nation on earth, how our government is to be run…”

What’s wrong with this statement? Up to this point, nothing. It’s true. Many people in this county think the same thing when they listen to what these Democrat House ‘squad’ members speak and view them as destructive. However, many words in this statement are trigger phrases for Democrat messaging. Specifically:
-American Greatness – Democrat’s reject this concept, deny it and openly criticize it.
-Congresswomen- since women are part of the protected class of identity politics of the Democrat party, you cannot call them out for their false, vile and racist statements without a politically correct backlash and media messaging.
-Race -is not stated or implied at all, but since these women, un-named, are all of minority ethnicity, more protected classes of identity politics of the Democrat party you cannot call them out for their false, vile and racist statements without a politically correct backlash and media messaging.

Part 2: “…Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. The come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

This is what set the fuse. Saying basically, “go back to your country” gives the Democrats and the media the talking point they need to reinforce the false narrative about Trump being racist and talk ad nauseum on variations of the subject. They want to make it the equivalent of Hillary’s ‘deplorables’ argument. Prove, either or both, that ‘deplorables’ was a true description, to assign ‘racist’ and ‘white nationalists’ labels to Trump & his supporters and hurt Trump’s 2020 re-election. And off they went for three days, culminating in the House vote Tuesday night to condemn President Trump’s ‘racist’ attacks against four minority Congresswomen.

During which even Nancy Pelosi’s comments on the floor attacking President Trump while asking for the House to approve the condemnation had to be condemned!

In a later tweet Trump tried to clarify:

His tweets were not racist. They were ill conceived from a wording perspective.

In Trump’s continuous attempt to fight back and fix problems, he has once again gone a step too far. In the second part of his tweet, he gave ammunition to his opponents to use against him, true or not, is irrelevant. It is possible that he has done this on purpose and by unifying the Democrats around the ‘squad’ objectives of Socialism, Communism and anti-American rhetoric he will help define the entire party that way. Remains to be seen if either political strategy will prove successful in 2020. But that’s what it is all about. But, Trump will lose if the decision is on style over substance!
