North confirms it tested various weaponry, which experts say included a short-range missile.
President Trump expressed confidence that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un would “do nothing to interfere” with the isolated regime’s potential economic progress, as Pyongyang’s state media confirmed a Saturday morning weapons launch that analysts say appeared meant to convey displeasure over stalled nuclear talks.
The North’s latest military provocation, its third in recent weeks, tested long-range rocket launchers and tactical guided weapons, an exercise meant to prepare the Kim regime for a “combat readiness posture all the time,” the country’s state media said early Sunday. One of the projectiles appeared to be a short-range missile, experts said.
