Boy Scouts Ineligible Volunteer Files“.
from The Wall Street Journal,
10/18/12:

Lawyers for a former Boy Scout on Thursday released 14,500 pages of files the Boy Scouts of America began compiling nearly a century ago that detail allegations by scouts who say they suffered molestation by adult leaders.

The release of the material follows a ruling in June by the Oregon Supreme Court that the files, which contain abuse accusations made over many decades, are public documents.

“The secret is out,” attorney Kelly Clark told a news conference as he described years of litigation surrounding the release of the files. The Boy Scouts’ archives became evidence in a civil case involving an Oregon man who alleged he was molested while participating in a scout troop operated by a Mormon congregation near Portland.

The files were the centerpiece of the 2010 trial, in which the anonymous plaintiff publicly identified himself as former Boy Scout Kerry Lewis.

Until Thursday, however, specific reports detailing thousands of allegations weren’t available to the general public.
