Charting a New Path to a Down Payment on Patient-Centered, Consumer-Driven Health Care Reform

Last week, Heritage hosted a panel discussion with the Pegasus Institute at the Kentucky State Capitol about health care reform. The event was attended by Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin, former Sen. Rick Santorum, state officials, and other interested constituents. This in-depth conversation highlighted where states like Kentucky can make inroads on health care reforms—especially since Washington has signaled gridlock on this front. In the end, Bevin endorsed Heritage’s Health Care Choices Proposal as a great solution that Congress should seriously consider to help give states the flexibility and resources to lower health care costs while increasing health care choices.
