Trump Exudes Confidence on Foreign Policy, Establishment Panics

RUSH: To Syria for a bit here. The president said yesterday there will be a “big price to pay” after medical aid groups reported dozens of people were killed by poison gas in a besieged rebel-held town in Syria. Now, wait a minute. There isn’t supposed to be any poison gas in Syria because Obama told us that he had forced Assad to get rid of all of it. And John Kerry did the same thing. They said it’s all gone. And this was back in 2014.
OBAMA: We have been very clear to the Assad regime, but also to other players on the ground that a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized. That would change my calculus. That would change my equation.
You know, Russia and Syria may have a point here because Obama and Kerry assured us that Assad got rid of all of his chemical Russians by handing them over to Russia. Do you remember this? And Obama and Kerry told us that Russia and Syria could be trusted to be telling the truth. So this news of a chemical attack has to be fake news, just like Assad’s chemical attack last year must have been fake news. If you don’t remember, here we go to the audio sound bites. RUSH: And what happened was a gas attack, a nerve gas attack, a chemical weapons attack by the Syrians, he wanted to find out why, what was the benefit. Trump was studying who in this scheme?
RUSH: Chemical weapons — are from Iraq. They were moved there before we went into Iraq. They were never taken out of Syria. The Russians never got ’em out of there. They’ve always been there. There is one other aspect of this. The last time this happened — I hope you’ll remember — I tried to make the case that I didn’t understand why Bashar al-Assad would be gassing his own people.
I held out that there was a possibility it was actually ISIS doing this disguised and dressed up, so to speak, as Assad’s army because it makes no sense for Assad to gas his own people, given how much attention’s being placed on Syria, how many people are watching it, it would be absolutely foolish to gas your own people here, which Assad — years ago now — was accused of doing, and it didn’t make any sense to me.
Now, this, clearly there are still chemical weapons there. If Obama thought they were all gone, somebody lied to Obama and he believed, if Obama knew they were there and told us, along with John Kerry and Susan Rice, that they were gone, then it was Obama and his team lying to everybody telling us how smart and tough they were.
