The Agriculture Department is running a $3 million radio and TV ad buy to hype the Food Stamp, renamed, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). According to the Wall Street Journal, a recent campaign even claims food stamps will help you lose weight.

And According to the official SNAP promo literature, “everyone wins!” The economics of the program are … incredible. “Every $5 in new SNAP benefits generates a total of $9.20 in community spending.” How? Who Knows? Who cares? Its the magic of food stamps!
