National Commission to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol Complex Act (H.R. 3233)
This commission has attracted some bi-partisan support. However, the bill is not about keeping the Capitol complex secure. The House will also vote on a $2 billion slush fund that is ostensibly to pay for additional Capitol security. In reality, many of the funds will go toward MRAs (Member Representational Allowances). The allowances can be used on a wide discretion of expenses including staff and office space.

Oath Keepers mission is serious, but not frightening

Oath Keepers Leader Stewart Rhodes, and 10 Others Charged With Seditious Conspiracy in Jan. 6 Probe.

I'll admit, I do not know much about Oath Keepers. What I remember from articles I read about their founding, they are American Patriots in support of the rule of law and the constitution and against everything that attacks either.

So, I thought I would look into them. Here is their mission as stated on their website:

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, police, and first responders (as well as “Associate Members” See below) who pledge to fulfill the oath all military and police take to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” That oath, mandated by Article VI of the Constitution itself, is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and Oath Keepers declare that they will not obey unconstitutional orders, such as orders to disarm the American people, to conduct warrantless searches, or to detain Americans as “enemy combatants” in violation of their ancient right to jury trial.

They also list a Declaration of Orders We Will Not Obey. Worth reading.

They further state: The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be, Freemen, or Slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their Houses, and Farms, are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State of Wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them. The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this army. – Gen. George Washington, to his troops before the battle of Long Island Such a time is near at hand again. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this Army – and this Marine Corps, This Air Force, This Navy and the National Guard and police units of these sovereign states.

Dramatic, some might say even radical, but unlike other missions statements which adhere and pledge to Marxist ideologies and tactics, this one does not scare me.

Now, whether they conspired in anyway on January 6th, that remains to be seen upon review of evidence. Since trust in our government agencies is at an all time low, i do not believe the FBI and certainly not the Congressional Commission on Jan 6th riots have truth and justice as their goals. I believe this is just a continued effort as finding supporting messages in the media for the political narratives surrounding the Capitol riots. Until they bring in anti-American groups like Anti-Fa and BLM, or censure Democrat members of Congress for inciting other riots, it will be hard to think anything else.

We will see.
