Culture War
Many from both the right and the left bemoan the state of the American culture today. Whether it is the lack of positive images in TV, movies, music, politicians, sports figures, police in schools and more, freedom and morality are discussed as being in conflict with each other. Benjamin Franklin once wrote on the subject: "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need for masters." This should ring true to you today as we debate not only our eroding culture, but the role of government in our lives. Are culture and the need for more government control more connected than we realize?

Media's purpose driven misunderstanding

from The Gray Area:

The past 2 days the left and the left wing mainstream media have been pushing the narrative that Rush Limbaugh is recommending secession and civil war. That is not true, of course, but truth doesn't matter to these groups.

My title to this post is written very nicely - - misunderstanding. The truth is it is not a misunderstanding, it is a purposeful, politically driven, narrative.

Just like 4 years ago, the media echoed the protestors over Trump's election, "not my president", "resist", "join the resistance", "stop the electors", "Trump is illegitimate", Russiagate, played down the violence of holding up Trump's severed head, shot Republican Congressmen playing baseball, or, this summer, who burned cities, toppled monuments and took over parts of other cities, etc, etc. All that is purpose driven narrative development against the Republican President.

Or, AOC and others creating list of Trump enablers to out and cancel!

Or, the liberal bashing of Senator Feinstein for attempting to be nice to Senator Graham!

And, this week, there is this post from Michigan State Rep Cynthia Johnson. Nice, conciliatory, uniting & non-violent, right?

The truth is Rush was asked if he thought the right could ever win the Culture War. He responded with there is such a great divide in that area and from what he has heard some people are leaning to secession as the only solution. That is statement that can be conveniently spun by the media to sound like a recommendation for secession from the right. And thus, they did, purposely, to send a frightening message about the Republican Trump supporters.

There are two types of people in this purpose driven process. One, those who only react to the narratives they hear. Two, those who create the narrative on purpose. The first group are the ones who misunderstand. They accept what they are told by group two and would not investigate on their own to possibly understand a nuanced discussion of culture wars and cultural divides.

Group two does not misunderstand, they lie!
