I Have to Admit it, I Laughed!

When I first heard the media saying that President Trump had ‘proposed’ sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, I laughed! Ended up being the administration had not ‘proposed’, but discussed the idea and then moved on.

Then, when I read the WaPo story, I laughed again. The headline was White House proposed releasing immigrant detainees in sanctuary cities, targeting political foes. But, buried in the article was a White House quote which said “This was just a suggestion that was floated and rejected, which ended any further discussion”. So, it wasn’t ‘proposed’ then? Why then was that your headline? Oh, I see, just another negative Trump headline opportunity, truth be damned. You have to laugh again.

But, the funny part is the absolute perfection of the idea. The left defend with passion their sanctuary cities, and aggressively promote them to illegals and the rest of the country. They even in some cases give advance notice to illegals about ICE raids. Sanctuary cities are a signature part of the Democrat party’s immigration strategy.

Ok, we need space to house the people flooding over the Mexican border, what better place to house them? It is genius. And, a little bit political. You have to laugh.

It also uses against them one of the favorite Democrat tactics from Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, #4: Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. The Democrat rule being stand behind sanctuary cities. Another laugh opportunity.

The Democrats and the leftist media are going ape over the political callousness of using children and families as political pawns. The hypocrisy screams out from these statements. Another laugh opportunity.

But, why is it so bad to send people where they are wanted and promoted? Contradictory? Another laugh opportunity.

Then, I am reminded when Obama ‘proposed’ doing this by sending illegals to Alabama. Interesting. There are no sanctuary cities in Alabama? This was the real political retribution plan! Oh, oh, gotcha. Another laugh opportunity.

And, now, Trump tweets he is serious about the idea. Another laugh opportunity!

Now to the serious side. Should Trump do this? My view is, if it is a legal activity, why not. The border cities are being overrun with refugee problems they do not want. Why not get help from the people who brag about how they want to house refugees in their cities. But, I’m not sure it is legal for the federal government to ship people into another state without that state’s permission. And, if those states don’t agree, again the hypocrisy is another laugh opportunity!
