Last weekend was a funny one in the campaign of Beto O’Rourke. The WSJ called it Beto’s Apology Tour. Here is a list of what happened:
- compared climate change to assaulting the beaches of Normandy
- gave an off hand complement to his wife
- had to apologize for the white privilege in his complement
- Calls America’s capitalist economy racist
- Beto says nothing in his past will hinder his 2020 candidacy
- comes out that he wrote fictional fantasies about plowing over children with a car.
- apologies for writing fictional fantasies about plowing over children with a car.
- Beto is a poet?
- 1990s arrest for driving while intoxicated
- GOP does funny tweet for St Patrick’s day with mugshot of Robert Francis O’Rourke in a Leprechaun hat
- Reuters (the media mind you) attempted to do opposition research for Beto in his Senate race against Cruz
- raised $6.1M in the first 24 hours of his campaign – a record!
This was just his first weekend!
