The president confirmed that CIA Director Mike Pompeo had met with the North Korean leader, paving the way for a spring meeting between the leaders of both nations.
President Donald Trump signaled some progress toward the denuclearization of North Korea on Wednesday, saying CIA Director Mike Pompeo’s meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un over Easter weekend had gone “very smoothly” — paving the way for an extraordinary meeting between the leaders of both nations.
Trump, a foreign policy novice, has taken an unconventional path to reaching the point of direct talks with North Korea.
