President Trump Tweets Support for Women’s March

President Donald J. Trump tweeted support for the thousands of women marching today, highlighting the fact that America is currently enjoying the lowest female unemployment rate in 18 years.

Last year, to protest the inauguration of President Trump, a group of feminists organized marches throughout the country that became known as the “Women’s March.” There, America’s greatest minds put forth thought provoking ideas such as donning knitted pink hats that resembled female genitalia, proclaiming “my body, my choice” while demanding the government pays for their birth control, and in some cases just screaming towards the sky.

Today, on the anniversary of Trump’s inauguration, thousands of protesters are at it again. It is not obvious that these citizens expected an endorsement from Donald Trump, but it is apparent that many of them have ignored historic feminist successes in Donald Trump’s administration and in the economy. For example, Kellyanne Conway was the first woman to successfully run a presidential campaign. Hope Hicks became the youngest ever White House Communications Director at age 29. However, Women’s March organizers have not yet said if they will be honoring those two.

As for the economy, plenty of women who voted for Trump still support him due to their financial success.

As noted by Reuters, one such woman is Belinda Miller. “My 401(k) and my 403 have soared, and if anybody doesn’t realize that, they’ve been asleep for a year,” said Miller, a 50-year-old emergency room nurse from Audubon, Pennsylvania, referring to her retirement accounts’ growth in a booming stock market.”

“I look overall not at what he says but what he does. All that other stuff is just rhetoric, smoke and mirrors,” she added.”
