take a minute to make sure you saw this important study released by MRC Culture– which was recently highlighted by the Hollywood Reporter.

As Hollywood has gone on the offensive against the NRA, as well as lawful and responsible gun owners, MRC Culture analysts took a look into the box office’s biggest hits last months and examined the horrific violence that they glorify.

MRC Culture found that “just four movies — Kingsman: Golden Circle, American Assassin, It and Mother! — featured 589 incidents of violence, including 212 incidents of gun violence. The total body count of the four was at least 192. At least 108 times, some kind of automatic weapon was used. Those guns fired so many rounds, so rapidly, an accurate tally of shots or even shooters was impossible.”

This represents Hollywood hypocrisy at its most extreme. They demonize responsible gun ownership and glorify outrageous, appalling, and irresponsible gun violence.

This represents Hollywood hypocrisy at its most extreme. They demonize responsible gun ownership and glorify outrageous, appalling, and irresponsible gun violence.

Brent Bozell, the Media Research Center’s Founder and President, made this statement about this important study:

Hollywood’s hypocrisy about Harvey Weinstein is only outdone by its hypocrisy about gun control.
You just knew the Hollywood celebrity crowd would jump all over that issue in the wake of the Las Vegas massacre. Yet in just four of the biggest movies showing around the country at this very moment – Kingsman: Golden Circle, American Assassin, It, and Mother! – there are no less than 212 incidents of gun violence. In just these four movies the body count is at least 192, and in over 100 gun violence incidents some kind of automatic weapon is employed. But they want gun control.
These were four of the five most popular movies in America when mass murderer Stephen Paddock modified his firearm into an automatic weapon and mowed down 59 innocent people from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel. Making tens of millions off movies that constantly depict gun violence, and then calling for gun control, is homicide hypocrisy.
