TIME Magazine’s ‘snarky’ pick of Donald Trump as Person of the Year

Every year TIME Magazine selects a Person of the Year. The single person or event that had the greatest impact during that calendar year. They have selected heroes like Charles Lindbergh, the definition of evil Adolph Hitler, an electronic box – the computer and even a mirror to recognize you the public. Therefore, it is understood that the selection is not meant to make people happy or necessarily to be a unanimous choice. It is meant to represent TIME’s view of the most impactful ‘person’ of the year. With that definition and history, they had to choose Donald Trump – what choice did they have!

That doesn’t mean they had to be nice about it, and to no one’s surprise they were not.

The caption for Obama’s Person of the Year in 2012, just his title, President Barack Obama. Inside, The campaign wasn’t pretty, and the economy worse. but he reasserted himself as a potent architect for a changing America.

If anyone thinks that TIME Magazine is not a left leaning publication, they have been living on another planet for 60 years. Any regular reader recognizes the leftist bias and I dare say so does the Editor, Nancy Gibbs. So, to have this selection come with obvious and aggressively one sided commentary and a sarcastic, divisive tone, is not surprising.

It is sad though, because it reflects the left’s continued denial of the message from the election. The left and specifically the leftist media, had their collective pants pulled down. The mainstream media were exposed for the leftist propagandists they are. The media continues to be frustrated by Trump’s tweeting (he has 40 million twitter followers!) and use of social media to bypass their control of news messaging. Journalism died long ago, but now even the pretense of journalistic integrity is dead. Trump exposed it. He didn’t divide the country, he exposed where the division exists. He renewed freedom of speech by exposing the hypocrisy, facade and danger within political correctness.

Yet the media denial continues, presenting the image that some historic wrong was done. Trump divides the country. Trump is dangerous. Trump mislead the country. Trump supporters are “deplorable”, “white nationalists”. The majority of the country didn’t vote for Trump, they voted for Hillary. Only the half that is sad, not the half that are happy, really reflects the country.

And the mainstream politicians were exposed too, for the dangerous frauds they all are.

Donald Trump was for sure the Person of the Year. He exposed every fault in the current alt-left world we live in. And that was very uncomfortable for us all.
