Economy
In this section you will be able to follow the discussion regarding the US economy, unemployment and jobs, US budget deficit, US debt burden, Government entitlements (Social Security & Medicare), and government impact on the economy (financial reform, government regulations, housing markets, and crumbling infrastructure -transportation). Since Trump's tax cut of 2017, much criticism has been about corporate stock re-purchases. These occur all the time, by the way, so it is not some unusual occurrence. In 2016, before Trump was elected, Disney bought back $7.5B of its stock. So, other than greed, why would a company buy back stock that it had sold?

Biden, dictator

3/5/24
from The Gray Area:
3/5/24:

Same day, same newspaper. Two separate stories of President Biden implementing another authoritarian, dictatorial order to business. And he calls Trump authoritarian and a dictator. 1. Biden causes economic problems, uses his dictatorial power to squeeze corporations trying to survive under his bad policy.

U.S. caps credit card late charges in new Biden crackdown on junk fees. 2. Bidenflation is so bad even Cookie Monster sees it. What does Biden do? He blames companies for trying to stay in business after he caused the problem they are trying to manage through! Cookie Monster’s ‘shrinkflation’ woes get White House response. President Biden is calling on companies to put a stop to shrinkflation". Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) also responded. “People in my state of Ohio are fed up — they should get all the cookie they pay for,” Brown said.

Seems no one in the Biden Administration understands how a market based economy works. Joe, Elizabeth, Chris and Sherrod, here is a supply & demand chart. Study it.
