Sexual Misconduct
Using sexual misconduct for political purposes has proven a successful strategy for over 30 years. In the era of Trump 'resistance' the strategy has a renewed priority.

An Embarrassing, Made-For-TV, Political Event

from The Gray Area:

Today's Senate hearing with Christine Blasey Ford accusing Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct was a classic made-for-TV political event.

On one side you had the Republican's using a professional sex crimes prosecutor to ask questions of Dr. Ford. On the other side you had Democrat Senators, every five minutes in between questioning by the Republican prosecutor, giving 5 minute Democrat commercials.

As far as the programming theme for this TV event, the Democrats were pushing the message that Dr. Ford was courageous, had encouraged others to come forward, was being treated badly by the Republicans, should be believed simply because she is a woman, there should be an exhaustive FBI investigation, President Trump is horrible, and, of course, an indefinite delay or withdrawal of Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court.

Republicans trying to be fair, separated themselves from the questioning of Dr. Ford by hiring a female prosecutor, attempting to look for evidence, and believe this was a baseless Democrat political smear.

To the serious observer, Dr. Ford seemed certain, vulnerable and damaged, yet there was nothing of substance in Dr. Ford's allegations. She could not say exactly when or where this supposed incident happened. She did say "100%" that it was Mr Kavanaugh. Yet each of the witnesses she stated have submitted under oath statements that they have no recollection of that event. As one Senator stated there was not enough evidence here "to get a search warrant". There was less evidence of guilt here than against Hillary Clinton. Yet, according to Director Comey, there was not enough evidence to get a prosecutor to present a case against Hillary Clinton. Then how can there be enough evidence here for an investigation?

Not to mention, the letter was sent to the FBI who said this matter is concluded!

When Mr Kavanaugh made his statement it was both emotional and firm. He did none of what he is accused of and called this hearing an embarrassment. Pointing specifically to Democrats who said immediately after his nomination they would do everything they could to stop his taking the seat on the Supreme Court.

This was a Democrat manufactured event (years in the making) for the sole purpose of defeating Mr Kavanaugh's nomination, facts be damned. These baseless allegations should be investigated and prosecuted so that such actions are not repeated in the future. Democrats made point after point about integrity, yet displayed none. This manufactured event was an embarrassment to the USA, to Congress, to the members of the Senate, to this committee and for the citizens of this country. I don't see how the Democrats on this committee can show their faces in public after their performance questioning Dr. Ford or Judge Kavanaugh.

And when you think about what happened today, you see clearly Trump Derangement Syndrome on the left and the frightening level of political assault it causes Democrats and their supporters on the extreme left.

I hope America can see through all the theatrics and the voter backlash is strong in November.
