This article in The Washington Post is laughably hypocritical. The hypocrisy starts with the subhead: Rep. Jim Jordan is demanding emails and meetings with leading disinformation researchers, part of a flurry of records requests, subpoenas and lawsuits that academics say have become a means of harassment.  Really? 'a means of harassment'? How can a left wing newspaper say this with a strait face after 8 years of harassment of Republicans and Donald Trump? And, the use of the term 'academics'.  Leaving one to think, how can they doubt an 'academic's research? Anyone remember 50 'intelligence officers' calling the Hunter Biden laptop, 'Russian disinformation'? Now known to be conpletely false! Next, The researchers who have been targeted study the online spread of disinformation, including falsehoods that have been accelerated by former president and candidate Donald Trump and other Republican politicians. So, where is the similar volume of research on Democrat politicians and presidents? Clearly we don't see that. Are we suppose to believe in the face of daily evidence to the contrary that none exists? And then, ...conspiracy-theory-prone outlet the Gateway Pundit and others sued Starbird and Stanford academics Alex Stamos and Renée DiResta, alleging that they are part of a “government-private censorship consortium” that tramples on free speech. Mountains of evidence supporting such accusations exists, yet the left wing media get away with labeling such claims 'conspiracy-theory-prone'.  Anyone remember Pulitzer prize winning, multi-year false reporting, on a debunked Russian collusion conspiracy in 2016? And, then this...“The political part is intimidating — to have people with a lot of power in this world making false claims, false accusations about our work... False claims, false accusations and intimidating politics, really? This could go on, the article is so full of media protecting narratives. But, you get the point. The Washington Post, The New York Times, CBS, NBC, ABC and other supposedly 'mainstream media' can be reliably expected to print attacks on Republicans and ignore or deny any Democrat malfeasance. Wouldn't it be nice to have an honest media? Vary your news sources. More From The Washington Post (subscription required):
